BCA is a national organisation formed by Blind members to provide a united voice of blind and vision-impaired Australians. Their mission is to achieve equity and equality through empowerment, by promoting positive community attitudes, and by striving for high quality and accessible services that meet members' needs. BCA receives funding support from The National Secretariat Service from the Department of Family and Community Services but also relies on members' contributions, blindness agencies, projects and community support to provide advocacy, peer support and information services to blind or vision-impaired people nationally.
