Letter of support for the East Coast Cycle Challenge
Blind Citizens Australia (BCA) is the national organization of blind and vision impaired Australians. Our mission is to achieve equity and equality by our empowerment, by promoting positive community attitudes and by striving for high quality and accessible services which meet our needs.
We are delighted to support the efforts and hard work of Daren Fittler and his team in the “East Coast Cycle Challenge” (ECCC). It is always pleasing when our members are willing to give up their time and work hard to promote the abilities of blind people to the community in such endeavours.
BCA is pleased to be the recipient of any funds raised from this event and have earmarked such funds for the development of blind and vision impaired youth of Australia. Dependant on the amount involved, our plan is to establish a youth fund and the interest earned each year would be used for programs for young people.
BCA has given Darren Fittler, and the ECCC organising team permission to establish a bank account using BCA’s name and “not for profit” status to aid in the organisation and running of the ride and to provide a legitimate account for donations.
We would be grateful for any support, small or large, you can provide Darren and the ECCC team.
If you require any additional information, please contact me at our National Office.
Yours sincerely
Maryanne Diamond
Executive Officer
